AI agents - what is it and why is everyone talking about it?

OpenAI just introduced something new: ChatGPT agents These agents aren't just smarter chatbots - they're digital co-workers

Imagine telling AI:

And it just… does it. That’s where we’re headed. At the same time, it also raises questions about how we use these tools in a smart and responsible way. You’ve probably already used OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT - a tool that can answer questions, help you write texts, or brainstorm ideas. But this new update goes far beyond that. ChatGPT Agents are designed to complete tasks, not just answer your questions.
It’s a powerful step toward a future where AI can act more like a team member than a digital assistant. Soon, you won’t just be asking AI to help, you’ll be delegating work to it.
And yes... It’s impressive... Even a little overwhelming.

One step at a time - maybe start by taking a step back

Learning to use AI tools effectively is a process - and one that many are still in the middle of.
Because you can't collaborate well with AI if you don't understand how to communicate with it.
And while the technology keeps evolving, many users are still left wondering:
Why doesn’t it feel as smart as I expected? Why are the answers so generic? Why does the tone still sound robotic?
If the idea of AI agents feels a bit abstract or futuristic, you're not alone. Because AI is not magic - its a tool. At Digital Thinking, we’ve spent a lot of time exploring AI - with clients, with colleagues, and with the tools themselves. We’ve seen people fall into the trap of “AI magic” and walk away disappointed. But we’ve also seen AI unlock massive potential - when it’s used correct. So what’s the difference? - It often comes down to this: the way we use it.

Did you expect more from ChatGPT? Maybe ChatGPT expected more from you...

A few months ago, one of our consultants shared a post on her LinkedIn, that still rings true. It’s a good reminder that working with ChatGPT is a collaboration.

You still need to steer, shape, and guide the process. You have to think about your question, your audience, and your goal. You have to care about the outcome.

And if we haven’t learned how to do that yet, how can we expect to manage what comes next?

Before you hand over bigger responsibilities to digital agents, maybe you need to take a step back
and strengthen the basics.

Here are the tips our consultant shared on LinkedIn
- a quick guide to getting better results from ChatGPT:

The next generation of AI is coming

But it’s not here to replace you. It’s here to work with you.
And maybe that’s the real shift: Not from human to machine - but from control to collaboration.
At Digital Thinking, we help companies make that shift. Not just with tools, but with mindset. We work with your reality - your team, your challenges, your goals. We believe AI should support people, not replace them, that it should help us work more meaningful - not just faster.

The future isn’t just about the technology we use. It’s about how that technology supports and empowers the people who use it.

Let’s talk about what AI can do for you!
